Working Groups

To help achieve the objectives of the The Climate Action Steering Group, the following three Working Groups were formed:

  • Energy Working Group
    • The purpose of this group is to identify and engage with local businesses, community groups and public bodies so as to deliver a plan that ensures a reduction in CO2 emissions from domestic and commercial energy use to as close to zero as possible by 2030.
    • The objectives of the Energy Working Group can be found in its Terms of Reference

  • Habitat Working Group
    • The purpose of this group is to identify and engage with local businesses, community groups and public bodies etc to develop and implement strategies to reduce/offset GHG emissions by enhancing the natural habitat, encouraging greater localisation and minimising waste
    • The objectives of the Habitat Working Group can be found in its Terms of Reference
    • If you would like to be involved in contributing to the ideas of the Habitat Working Group, please contact its lead Berkhamsted Town Councillor, Cllr Maryjane Hardinge on mary.jane@berkhamstedtowncouncil.gov.uk
  • Reducing Carbon from Travel Working Group
    • The purpose of this group is to look at ways in which fossil fuel-based transport can be reduced, support cycling, electric cars and other low carbon transport schemes.
