Local Government Transparency Code 2015

Background

The Government wishes to place more power into citizens' hands to increase democratic accountability and make it easier for local people to contribute to the local decision making process. The Government published the Local Government Transparency Code 2015 which seeks to ensure that certain data held by local Councils is published in a timely and open way.

Personal data will not be included if publishing it would contravene Data Protection legislation.

The Town Council has adopted the code and will publish the following information:

Quarterly

Expenditure details over £500

Procurement information of every invitation to tender or quotes for contracts exceeding £5,000

Annually

Information with regard to land and buildings which the Town Council owns or leases

Standing Orders and Financial regulations

Details of grants made to voluntary and community groups

Organisation chart for Town Council staff

Salaries of £50,000 or more

Pay multiple (defined as the ratio between the highest taxable earnings for the year and the median earnings figure of all staff)
