Serving the people of Berkhamsted

Festival of Light 2021

St Peter's Church

This year's Festival of Light is on Sunday 28 November 2021 from 3.30pm until 6pm.

Berkhamsted High Street will be closed from Castle Street to the Kings Road junction from 1pm to 7.30pm.

Stalls lining the High Street will be selling mince pies, mulled wine, festive arts and crafts, and much more!

The Elves' posting house will be at the Civic Centre where children can write or design a special message to Father Christmas.

Entry to the Elves' posting house is by ticket only so book your visit.

Santa's Elves will be making sure that all the children entering the posting house can write, crayon or design a special message to Father Christmas and post it in the Christmas posting box. In order to ensure children can enjoy this event safely this year, entry must be booked and paid for in advance and you must book a time slot.

Candle lights returning to St Peter's Church to welcome in Advent from 3pm

St Peter's, Berkhamsted, will be lit up by a thousand candles and tealights to celebrate the start of Advent as part of the town's annual Festival of Light.

7pm – Traditional Advent carol service at St Peter's Church.

This fantastic event is supported by many voluntary organisations. It is also supported by Waitrose, and Marks and Spencer, who provide refreshments to all our volunteers on the day. West Midlands Trains also very generously provide free parking in the train station car park. There is also disabled parking in the Water Lane car park which can be accessed by Mill Street on the day.

To help keep everyone safe at the Festival of Light we advise:

HANDS – Please use hand sanitizing gel/wash your hands regularly

FACE – Please wear a face mask at all times

SPACE – Please follow and maintain social distancing guidelines
