Salt bins are provided by Hertfordshire County Council for the public to use on roads and footways and are generally sited at bends or hills where the risk of slipping on ice is greater.

You can check the locations of all salt bins across Hertfordshire.

You can also report a damaged or empty salt bin

Salt bins are not provided for people to use within their own private property.
