Garrick has been a Town Councillor since 1999, serving two terms as Town Mayor in 2001/02 and 2019-2021.

He has lived in Berkhamsted for 30 years and has a long-standing concern about the absence of proper provision of services and the infrastructure, which has not kept up with the growth of the town.
