DBC consultation re changes to parking arrangements in Berkhamsted associated with the new multi storey car park.

Proposed Traffic Order:

THE BOROUGH OF DACORUM (ST JOHN'S WELL LANE, WATER LANE AND THE MOOR, BERKHAMSTED) (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2018

DBC are undertaking a consultation on proposals to change the conditions of parking within the car parks in Berkhamsted during the closure of Lower Kings Road car park for the construction of a multi-storey car park.

The general effect of the Order would be:

The general effect of the Order would be to amend the Borough of Dacorum (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2017, so as to remove reference to Lower Kings Road car park, which is to close to allow for the construction of a multi-story car park, and:-

(a) amend the conditions of use applying to St John's Well Lane car park to provide that the whole car park would operate as an "any stay" car park, charges would apply between 8am and 6pm for the whole car park and would be as follows: Up to 1 hour - £0.70; 1 to 2 hours - £1.30; 2 to 3 hours - £2.00; 3 to 4 hours - £2.60; 4 to 10 hours (all day) - £3.80;

(b) reduce the maximum stay period in Water Lane car park to 2 hours; and

(c) provide a temporary car park (to be known as The Moor car park) in Mill Street, Berkhamsted operating at all times. The maximum stay period would be 4 hours and parking charges would apply between 8am and 6pm as follows: Up to 1 hour - £0.70; 1 to 2 hours - £1.30; 2 to 3 hours - £2.00; 3 to 4 hours - £2.60.

The consultation period starts on 4 July 2018 October and ends on 25 July 2018.
