INVITATION FROM BERKHAMSTED TOWN COUNCIL TO A PUBLIC MEETING 22 NOVEMBER 2017 AT 7.30pm

CIVIC CENTRE, 161, HIGH STREET, BERKHAMSTED

TO DISCUSS DACORUM BOROUGH COUNCIL'S "LOCAL PLAN – ISSUES AND OPTIONS CONSULTATION TO 2036" AND THE IMPACT ON BERKHAMSTED

At the meeting, a short presentation summarising DBC's proposals will be made followed by an opportunity to discuss your views with councillors. This will help the Town Council formulate its response to the consultation which it has already been reviewing with a working group, made up of councillors, local residents and community groups (BRAG and Berkhamsted Citizens).

The two key aspects are the number of new homes to be provided and development on some Green Belt sites. As DBC have said in the forward to the consultation document "..some difficult decisions will need to be made." The consultation papers are available on line at www.dacorum.gov.uk/planningpolicy, at Dacorum Council offices and in libraries. People can reply on-line, by e-mail or by post. The Town Council thinks it is crucial that as many individuals, groups and organisations as possible respond to the consultation.

Other dates to note:

The consultation itself runs from 1 November to 13 December 2017;

Dacorum Borough Council has advertised a number of "Give us your views" sessions in the Gazette on 1 November. The session for Berkhamsted is on Friday 17 November 2017 at the Civic Centre, 161 High Street, Berkhamsted (opposite Tesco) from 2 pm – 9 pm. Please drop in to have a look at the proposals and discuss any issues with DBC staff.
