Fri, 14 Jul 2017 09:50 by Town Warden

Herts County Council engineers are very happy to advise that Shootersway Pedestrian Improvement Scheme is beginning on site next week. The project will provide a safe pedestrian crossing which will be invaluable especially for pupils walking to and from school. The Town Council has been pressing for these safety improvements and supported the smart technology signals and box junction marks on the BFI entrance which have been incorporated into the scheme. Construction starts in the week beginning 26 June, continuing through the summer holiday period. The programme and closure will be updated via the HCC web so please do refer to it for updates: https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/highways-roads-and-pavements/roadworks-and-road-closures/road-closures/road-closures.aspx.

A416 Kings Road Resurfacing

Fri, 14 Jul 2017 09:43 by Town Warden

Carriageway resurfacing works are due to commence on the A416 Kings Road, Berkhamsted. The works
will be carried out between the junction at Ashlyns Road and the junction at the High Street; the works also
include a small section of the High Street. In order to create a safe working environment for the workforce
and members of the public alike, the works will be completed using a full road closure, with a fully signed
diversion route. See details below for working times. The works are due to start on Monday the 17th of July
2017 and are programmed to take approximately 7 nights to complete (excluding weekends), weather
All noisy operations i.e. jack hammering and milling out of the old road surface will be completed by
midnight. However, if we encounter unforeseen circumstances on site, it is possible we may work outside
these hours.
These works form part of Hertfordshire County Councils on-going commitment to maintain and improve the
road network in Hertfordshire. We will be replacing the existing worn out road, replacing damaged iron work
covers, reinstalling road markings, reconstructing the footway, reinstating the signal loops and cleaning
gullies within the newly resurfaced area. More »
